Don’t get mad, get even!
I mean, Hello! Happy new week!
Oiy!
How do you process your anger?
I used to internalize my anger and then would get strep throat.
Speaking publicly about living childfree opens the gate to comments. I used to HATE troll comments and the like. Now, I turn them into content for my social media.
But what do you do when someone within the childfree community tries to manipulate their way into your project so that they can take credit?
I’ll tell you what I did.
I wrote out a lengthy tirade and hit DELETE. Then, I had a meeting with my collab partners, and we discussed the most effective way to handle this person. The matter remains ongoing at the time I’m writing this, but we have a strategy in place now.
Collab tip #8:
Presenting a united front with your partners is everything!
People will try to drive a wedge between you and your ideas. They may threaten not to participate in your event or even contact other members of your team behind your back. They may also leave loving comments on your social media posts afterwards.
Putting yourself out there can make you vulnerable and by no means am I telling you not to trust people. But it’s helpful to show your strength and not rely on their “name” to get you where you want to go.
LIVE EPISODE
BTW, the Childfree Girls podcast is going LIVE again this Friday, January 22, 2021, at 7 PM EST.
Topic: Childfree Gatekeeping.
I have a feeling this will be a debate! I’m also debuting my latest wig.
It’s free to be in the live audience; you can participate via chat. Here’s the link if you want to register!
Episode 2 of Accidental Parenthood
I recently created this podcast with my brother, a single dad of two. I ask him all the questions most parents won’t answer.
It’s a weekly podcast. Funny and visceral, you’ll hear our signature sibling banter. Best of all, Evan shares a detailed parenthood experience, so if you’re on the fence about having kids, give it a listen.
It’s also entertaining as fuck for childfree people. We don’t talk about kids, but the effects of being a parent.
Available on iTunes/Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcast, and on our website.
Don’t look for us on YouTube because we are audio only!
Childfree Pick-of-the-Week
“What don’t you get about the childfree? Q&A” by Kristen Tsetsi is a response to an article from The Huffington Post.
Excerpt:
“What are you contributing to the world?
Myself! If parents have kids with the hope that they’re injecting something positive into the world, I like to think that by trying to be as kind as I can be, as helpful as I can be, and as loving as I can be, I’m being the contribution my parents hoped to make.”
Final Thoughts
“Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguin' is done
We'll take our leave and go”
I’m listening to this sea shanty on a 3-hour loop via YouTube. That video then gets played on repeat to the point where I’m up all night writing. I get so much work done with this playing in the background!
You’ll either thank me or hate me for this, but it’s SO good!
Until next time,
LeNora Faye
